One girl showed us her phone and took us through her list of various boyfriends:
"This one is for recharging my phone, this one is for paying my bills, this one is for taking me out to dinner... The list goes on."
The Nigeria dating scene appears to be extremely competitive for the Naija guys: "A girl can have as much as possible - two, five, six."
One girl said she has eight boyfriends; another explained "three would be responsible."
And each boyfriend has his own role:
"I have boyfriends I'm in love with, I have boyfriends because of money, I have boyfriends because they are fine," explains one Naija babe.
But how do you manage so many boyfriends?
"The funny thing is those guys might not be staying together. One will be staying far from your house, some close to your school, some in your old school, some in your very area. So you manage them when you go home, when you are in class or even on phone."
Another woman explains: "To me it's a secret... when all the parties know (about each other) there is no guarantee of you marrying any of them because they will think that you also do that when you pack into their house... they must think you are as holy as Jesus Christ."
Perhaps it is most simply explained by one Nigerian girl's simple explanation:
"Even system has backup."
